A Hawley retainer is a durable, classic retainer with a wire across the front of your teeth. Because it often needs small adjustments to fit just right, we cannot ship this retainer directly to your home. Instead, your Hawley retainer will be delivered to your orthodontist’s office. After placing your order, please call your orthodontist to schedule a Hawley Retainer Fit Appointment.
Important to Know Before You Order:
- Your orthodontist has already provided us with an exact model of your teeth at their straightest.
- If you have not been wearing your retainer regularly, your teeth may have shifted. A new retainer may not fit properly over shifted teeth.
- Our goal is to give you a high-quality, well-fitting retainer. If we notice anything unusual with your scan or order, we will call you right away to discuss next steps.

Fabrication & Shipping Times: Each retainer is custom-made, starting with your intraoral scan, ensuring its accuracy, creating your prescription, 3D printing your tooth model, and then fabricating the retainer. The entire process usually takes 3-5 business days, depending on the complexity. Shipping time varies but typically takes 2-5 business days. Please allow 7-10 business days from the day of your order to receive your retainers. Doctor Approved Retainers & Retainers For Life is not responsible for shipments that are delivered late due to carrier delays.
